Handmade in the Lake District in the north west of England, this paper is made of 70% cotton and 30% abaca fibres. Designed to be strong yet retain the suppleness characteristic of cotton paper. Archival and acid free, it is ideal for use as a bookbinding, letterpress printing or drawing paper. Undyed and with subtle evidence of the laid lines on the surface of the sheet.
This paper was developed with the guidance of the former papermakers at Griffen Mill and many of Britain’s leading bookbinders and paper conservators.
The Paper Foundation is a newly established charity with the principal ambition of ensuring that the production of fine handmade papers continues.
